Men’s Ministry at Oasis
ABOUT THE MINISTRY
The purpose of the Men’s Ministry at Oasis is to enable men to grow and mature in their walk with the Father and Jesus Christ, and also to grow in genuine fellowship with other men at Oasis. God doesn’t want us to be lone rangers but instead, He wants us walking closely with Him in all areas in our lives and with our Christian brothers (and sisters) around us.
Matthew 22: 37 – 39
Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ 38 This is the first and greatest commandment. 39 And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbour as yourself.’”
We are also called to encourage one another in our Christian Walk (Heb. 10:24–25), and that is what our Men’s Ministry is all about!
What do we do as a group?
The ministry has been going since the last century (this sounds more impressive than just saying since 1998!) and our activities include:
- Approx. 3 meetings a year at Oasis, sometimes a breakfast or an evening with pizza event (always some sort of food), followed by a time of worship and teaching / preaching on a subject relevant to men, followed by ministry time. Ad Hoc events such as Indian cooking sessions in church – more of a social, fun event.
- Bi-annual weekends away at a outdoor activity centre near Tunbridge Wells. Even though the event includes excellent spiritual teaching, the emphasis of the weekend is on having fun and making friendships.
- Bi-annual day retreats at Waverly Abbey (started in 2025)
- Magnet Groups – Small friendship / accountability groups of 3 – 4 men.

- A bunch of guys who are committed to the healing of the heart.
- A place where men can receive encouragement and empowerment.
- Small groups of men who walk together to bring the Gospel to the workplace
- A place where men can be accountable

Charles Humphreys
Charles is married to Amanda and is about to become an empty nester with their 3 sons grown up and moved out! Together with Amanda (who joined Oasis a few years earlier) Charles has been a member of Oasis since early 1998 and has led the Men’s Ministry since 2001.
Charles has a breadth of life experience: growing up in Pontypridd in South Wales, living on a Kibbutz in Israel, where he worked as a Fisherman on Lake Galilee! He also attended University in Bordeaux, France. Charles also has a love for all things DIY and Carpentry, whether projects are big or small. He also runs a cell group in South Croydon, together with Amanda.

Isabel Skulason
Ministering the Father’s heart
Isabelle Skúlason has been a close friend of Oasis Church for many years and she has blessed many
people with personal revelation from Father God.
Ministering the Father’s heart is the best way to describe the way Isabel ministers in the prophetic.
She has a very strong, deep, and powerful revelation of the Father’s love, which is evident in her
teachings, ministry, and character. She lives-in and stresses intimacy with the Father as the greatest
key to unlock His Kingdom here today. Through her testimonies and journey she clearly reveals the
Father’s heart and love. More and more people say how & they had a personal encounter with the
Father" when Isabel ministered to them or by hearing her teachings. She brings a great sense and
understanding for the need of mature prophetic ministry, which speaks the Fathers heart.
During Isabelle’s visit to Oasis in September 2023 she released a powerful prophetic word over all
the member of Oasis, which we are encouraged to declare and decree over our lives.

Men established as leaders
The men of this house are going to be established, men you are leaders. You are men of authority and the
Lord is releasing favour for you to arise in the marketplace, there is an amazing business anointing in this
place. Wisdom for business is going to arose, the Josephs are going to arise and shine in the marketplace. The
Josephs are arising here. The Josephs are going to make a way. In the Kingdom, He is raising you to bring
transformation. He is going to give you favour.
New jobs are being released for men in the marketplace, the Lord will reposition many by the Hand of the
God, open new doors where there is (now) no door, even changing your abilities to arise like Joseph. I saw
new jobs being released for men in the marketplace and the Lord is going to reposition you. Many of you
have been in limbo for a while, wondering where you fit in, but God is going to rearrange (things) and you
are going to see a lot of change, a lot of change is coming.
For those in the workforce some of you are being repositioned. Some of you may even be made redundant,
but it is the hand of God. Do not let disappointment come into those areas. God is positioning you like a
chessboard and He is going to open doors for your where there is (presently) no door for you. For God is
going to give you favour (for you) to arise like Joseph did and He will change even your abilities. Many of you
have not entered into who God really created you to be and your real places of work have not been released.
Yet in who you really are God is going to rearrange that for you and cause an awakening to arise in you.
A corporate Joshua anointing
Isabelle said she saw an amazing Joshua anointing coming or the men of Oasis:
“I saw Joshua arising in this house. I saw the men of this house standing mighty and strong in front of the
waters and parting them and walking to the other side – taking people with you. There is a corporate
anointing in here, but men you are going to walk in a corporate anointing as fathers in the Kingdom. God is
raising you up to lead others. Fathers are not individuals, they carry legacy, they carry people and you are
going to walk in legacy and become very mindful of the legacy you are leaving in the land. For you are taking
people into destiny and God is making you examples and banners for many to watch and to follow. You will
be the banners of the land and you will set many standards. Many, many standards of integrity, many
standards of Godliness, many standards.”
Day retreats
Every two years, the men at Oasis have an opportunity to go away together for a Day’s Retreat at Waverley Abbey. This beautiful setting near Guildford provides the perfect location for Spiritual Teaching, Friendship, Food and Reflection.

In alternating years with the days retreat, the men at Oasis have an opportunity to go away together for a weekend away that involves a lot of fun & laughter, decent food and some quality spiritual teaching. The setting is the Bowles Activity Centre near Tunbridge Wells, which lies in a beautiful region of Kent, close to the East Sussex border.
Emphasis on having fun and growing friendships! There’s freedom to dip into what you want to do, so there’ll be no pressure, but the weekend will offers you a great chance to catch up with old friends and to make new ones. Saturday morning involves getting out into the fresh country air and doing a variety of fun activities such as archery, tug of war and other tough men’s games! To make friendships guys normally need activities and a bit of time. It’s a simple formula! You can ask anyone who came to the last weekend away and you’ll hear they had a great time and genuine friendships were forged. Saturday evening involves circulating around our own private bar, comfy chairs, possibly watching a film or chatting. There will also be a large outside campfire to warm your bones whilst you enjoy a favourite tipple!
Spiritual focus Each year we go away the focus of the weekend away will be slightly different, but there will always be excellent, spirit-filled teaching and times of worship. Practical details (40 places available only) Accommodation: A mixture of single, twin and triple bedrooms, with tea / coffee making facilities, each room has ensuite bathroom. Bedding & towels provided. Cost: approx. £278 (inc. vat) per person, which includes: full board, archery, plus evening campfire & marshmallows!
